Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk scored an outrageous goal during a training session, while claiming he 'likes a challenge'. The Reds skipper's recent performances have come under scrutiny after the club conceded in five of their six pre-season friendlies. At the same time, the English champions also squandered their lead twice and lost to Crystal Palace in the Community Shield.

  WHAT HAPPENED?

  Amid criticism from certain quarters, the Dutch defender scored an outrageous goal in a Liverpool training session. Van Dijk was standing behind the goalpost as he tried to curl the ball into the net. The centre-back failed in his initial attempt but managed to score a brilliant goal with his second attempt. In between, the veteran defender was heard saying, "I like a challenge!".
